Completed in 2007 while Mary was working at Nelson Byrd Woltz, the Asia Trail is a quarter mile accessible trail, primarily over structure, linking seven endangered Asian animal species including the Giant Panda. As senior project manager, Mary led the Asia Trail project from early concept through the completion of construction.

The trail is designed to promote an overall message of environmental conservation and education. Stormwater treatment, non-toxic resin paving, local stone, and green roofs, were among the numerous sustainable design initiatives incorporated into the project. With the success of the Asia Trail, NBW with Mary as project manager was commissioned to design a new Giant Panda Conservation and Breeding Center in Wolong, China in the Sichuan Province.
