Dedicated as the “Serenity Garden,” this space emphasizes the role of nature – plants, sunlight, water, and fresh air – on the ability to heal. This once inaccessible rooftop courtyard has been transformed into a refuge for staff and patients though a simple palette of modular planters, regional black locust timber, and native trees and perennials. A custom carved stone fountain sits central in the space, serving as a visual and auditory focal point, as well as creating a calm and reflective atmosphere.
