The Smithsonian National Zoo’s Asia Trail is an immersive 6-acre trail that takes visitors through various wildlife habitats and plantings native to or reminiscent of the animals’ landscapes or origin. Pathways and elevated walks take advantage of the National Zoo’s dynamic topography to create a variety of opportunities for visitors to catch a glimpse of the Zoo’s animals, including its famed pandas. The trail immerses visitors in an atmosphere evocative of Asian forest environs, providing context to learn about the animal’s habitats and natural behaviors.
