Comprising various rooftop balconies with a common central courtyard over structure in Little Italy, raised metal planters along with built in black locust seating, cladding, shelves, and decking helped unify the rooftop spaces. Within the common courtyard, a timber pergola over a dining table and hammock uses retractable cloth panels to provide shade and privacy, while recirculating water through three discreet scuppers and the training of Virginia creeper onto the walls help buffer city sounds. A shade tolerant plant palette with an emphasis on seasonal display brings long blooming anemone and geranium, bright fall colored sumacs, and evergreen autumn ferns into view throughout the year.
