An expansive landscape with cultivated and naturalized gardens
A site historically used for agricultural and commercial flower growing, this 26 acre property was developed into a series of formal and informal gardens. Mary Wolf led the design and implementation efforts for the reconstruction of the original formal gardens as well as the newly conceived gardens, which include an ornamental kitchen garden, pool complex, hedged cutting garden, and agricultural and play fields. Linear paths and an overall circuit walk connect the house and gardens to the renovated pond, a once ivy-covered pine grove, and the larger landscape. Water is a central focus of the design and visually linked throughout the site.
