Situated on 700 acres of land with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the barn at Monte Vista Farm is a live-work environment. The project began with a master plan for the barn complex where a more functional living environment was desired but the practical needs of a cattle operation had to be met. The plans created a clear precinct around the barn with an entrance court defined by large beds of native grasses and hedges, allees, pathways, and a native perennial garden that frames distant views of the mountains. The project includes an orchard and berry garden. Phase 2 of the project includes extensive meadows and reforestation areas.
